Position: Social Service Worker 2 
Full time – $22.47 - $26.96
Division: Child and Adult Protective Services

Primary Duties (non-exclusive): Duties include receiving and investigating allegations of child or adult abuse or neglect; maintaining a caseload of abuse/neglect cases; preparing cases for judicial or administrative reviews; providing court testimony; preparing and maintaining forms and correspondence; meeting deadlines; and ensuring compliance with state and federal mandates for children and adult protective services.
Qualifications: (1) Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field (2) A valid Ohio driver's license (3) All positions are subject to employment verification, criminal background check, fingerprinting, alcohol and drug screening, motor vehicle report check, SACWIS AP search, and approval by the Ashland County Commissioners.


 

Position: Social Service Worker 1
Full time – $19.77 - $23.72
Division: Social Services

Primary Duties (non-exclusive): Receives and directs where appropriate incoming calls to the unit; Monitors the service delivery of county social service providers; Provides direct service to clients per caseworker/supervisor instruction; Assists clients with referrals and with obtaining emergency needs through community resources; Assists clients with obtaining information, completing forms, understanding programs and procedures; Provides supervision/child care while parents are being interviewed; Creates flyers, brochures, etc. for marketing, recruitment or general information; Submits criminal records requests; Distributes foster care/adoption information; Delivers legal documentation to court and/or prosecutors’ office; Completes
forms and enrollments for foster children; Gathers information from other agencies or law enforcement as directed by supervisor; Assist with monitoring visitation: Manage front desk.
Qualifications: (1) Associate’s degree in social work or related field (2) Minimum 1 year of work experience in child welfare (3) A valid Ohio driver's license (4) All positions are subject to employment verification,
criminal background check, fingerprinting, alcohol and drug screening, motor vehicle report check, and approval by the Ashland County Commissioners.


 

Position: Eligibility Referral Specialist 2
Full time – $17.25 - $20.70
Division: Income Maintenance

Primary Duties (non-exclusive): Duties include: interviewing applicants and/or authorized representatives for initial eligibility and ongoing eligibility for all public assistance programs, computing budgets, verifying documents submitted to support public assistance requests, approving or denying application for public assistance, explaining to recipients their rights, procedures, programs, policies and available services, referring customers to other government or private agencies and ensuring compliance with state and federal program regulations.
Qualifications: Applicants must be able to calculate fractions, decimals and percentages, complete forms, prepare routine correspondence and have a working knowledge of computers, calculators, and other basic office equipment. All positions are subject to employment verification, alcohol and drug screening, motor vehicle report check, criminal background check, and approval by the Ashland County Commissioners.
