The Third Shift Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of machines and personnel associated with finishing activities including printing, folding, gluing, labeling, bundling and unitizing. The Third Shift Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for managing activities on the assigned shift in an efficient and safe manner.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate activity with the Operations Manager and Superintendent to plan and manage shift work orders, ensure quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through the fabrication department to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime.
Schedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy. Engage in employee development activities, make recommendations on employee hire, promotion, and disciplinary action.
Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.
Conduct employee training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control on an ongoing basis.
Ensure completion of departmental operations within guidelines of continuous improvement policies.
Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions.
Analyze fabricating performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish goals and execute strategy.
Participate in production meeting and provide updates as needed.
Verify the quality of the jobs and investigate any customer complaints regarding finishing quality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years' of corrugated manufacturing experience.

JOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES:
The Packaging Machine Operator, under the general supervision, is responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of snack packaging machinery.
Reads production schedule and plans accordingly.

What is PCA's GIFT Program?
The GIFT Program is a comprehensive rotational training program designed to give recent college graduates experience in the major departments of a corrugated box plant and a well-rounded knowledge of the corrugated packaging industry as a whole. Perform setup and operations on a range of machines: CINCINNATI MILACRON/CINTURNS, MAZAK QT 28, MAZAK QT-35, MAZAK QT-40, GRINDERS, MAZAK BAR FEEDER, BAR MACHINES, CNC 4-Axis, CINTURN 300T-1 2-AXIS LATHE, MORI-SEIKI SL-35 2-AXIS LATHE, MORI-SEIKI SL-25 2-AXIS LATHE, LATHES, 2 AXIS CNC, FALCON 3, 2-AXIS LATHE, LATHES; 2-AXIS CNC CIN/MIL/MO-15, MORI-SLO, SABRE(S).
Receive on the job training and mentoring on Pentair’s proven best practices.
Make tool adjustments and replacements as necessary.
Produce quality parts to specification which may include deburring and cleaning parts.
Perform quality checks as required including first piece inspection.
Perform work productively according to established standard rates.

Position hours/shift (Overtime Available!):
2nd: 3:30pm – 12:00am
3rd: 11:00pm – 7:00am
All training will take place during first shift.
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting and lowering weights up to 50 pounds. Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform work in a safe manner by following all written and verbally communicated safety rules and procedures.
Produce product according to tolerances on blueprints.
Perform routine measurements per quality standards.
Read and interpret extrusion instructions.
Maintain accurate paperwork.
Correctly package and label products.
Perform daily housekeeping duties: sweep, mop, chip salt, skim, and maintain 5S areas.
Routinely meet or exceed production output rates per standards.
Setup and operate various off-line and secondary equipment to include cutters, tape machines, punch press, hot box, and reeling machine.
EXPERIENCE: No prior experience or training needed; rubber molding experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to function effectively in a team setting.
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
Ability to work overtime.
